Why wedding toilet hire matters more than you think
We've all been to an event where the toilet facilities were an afterthought — a couple of basic portables jammed in a corner, always in need of attention. Your guests notice. They might not mention it to you on the day, but they remember it.
A luxury toilet trailer, on the other hand, is something guests genuinely comment on positively. We regularly hear from couples whose guests told them the wedding loos were the best they'd ever seen at an event. When you're spending thousands on your day, the facilities deserve proper attention.
What does a luxury toilet trailer actually look like?
Luxury toilet trailers are a completely different experience from standard portable toilets. They arrive as a towed trailer, are positioned at your venue, and when set up look — and function — like a proper indoor bathroom block.
Inside, you'll find proper flush toilets with running water, real wash basins with hot and cold taps, vanity mirrors with lighting, climate control, and décor that's actually attractive. The most popular wedding option is a trailer with separate female and male sections — typically 2 or 3 female cubicles with vanity area, and 1 male cubicle with urinal.
The finishing touches that make all the difference
What elevates a good luxury toilet trailer to an exceptional one is the attention to detail inside. The best suppliers include: fresh cut flowers, premium hand soaps and lotions, soft hand towels, scented candles, ambient lighting, and sometimes even background music. These aren't expensive extras — they're what create the impression that the facilities match the rest of your day.
Do I need an attendant?
For weddings over 80–100 guests, we strongly recommend an attendant. The attendant's job is to keep the facilities pristine throughout your reception — cleaning between uses, restocking toiletries, refreshing flowers and ensuring everything looks perfect from your first guest to your last. Without an attendant, even the most beautiful trailer can look tired after a few hours of use.
The cost (typically £150–£300 for a full day) is well worth it, especially when you consider the overall investment in your wedding day.
How many units do I need for my wedding?
The most popular choice for weddings up to 150 guests is a single 2+1 or 3+1 luxury trailer (female cubicles + male cubicle). For weddings of 150–250 guests, two trailers or a larger unit is usually recommended. For larger weddings, we'd put together a bespoke package.
Factors that increase the provision needed: all-day celebrations, heavy alcohol service, no existing venue facilities, or a particularly spread-out venue where guests can't easily access one central facility.
When should I book?
For summer Saturdays — the most popular wedding dates — we recommend booking your wedding loos at least 3–6 months in advance. The best luxury trailers get booked up fast, particularly for peak season weekends. Don't leave it as an afterthought — it's one of the easier things to cross off your wedding planning list and one that will genuinely make a difference to your guests' experience.
