How far in advance should I book portable toilets?

This is one of the most common questions we get — and the honest answer is that it depends on what you're booking for. Here's a straightforward guide to booking timelines for every type of portable toilet hire.

Weddings — book 3 to 6 months ahead

For weddings, particularly on summer Saturdays between May and September, booking 3 to 6 months ahead is strongly recommended. The best luxury toilet trailer suppliers book up fast for peak season weekends, and you don't want to find yourself scrambling for facilities a month before your big day.

If your wedding is on a less popular date — a Friday, Sunday, or in autumn or winter — you have more flexibility, but we'd still suggest booking at least 6 to 8 weeks ahead to guarantee your preferred option.

Events and festivals — book 2 to 4 months ahead

For larger events and festivals (500+ attendees), 2 to 4 months ahead is sensible. Suppliers who handle large events have limited capacity and get booked early for the summer season. For smaller events under 200 people, 4 to 6 weeks is usually enough, though earlier is always better.

For recurring events like annual shows or regular markets, contact us immediately after your previous event to secure the same supplier and timing for next year.

Construction sites — book as soon as you have a start date

For construction sites, the simple rule is: book as soon as you know your start date. Ideally, welfare facilities should be in place before workers arrive on site — not something to sort out after work has started.

In practice, we can usually arrange construction site toilet hire within 24 to 48 hours for standard units. For welfare units or larger orders, allow 3 to 5 working days. If you're in a hurry, call us directly and we'll do everything we can to help.

Last-minute bookings — can it be done?

Yes — we handle last-minute bookings regularly. For standard portable toilets, we can often arrange same-day or next-day delivery across most of the UK. For luxury trailers, welfare units or large multi-unit orders, same-day is harder but next-day is often possible.

If you have an urgent requirement, the best thing to do is call us directly on 0333 XXX XXXX rather than filling in the form — it gets things moving faster.

When is it too late to book?

Honestly, it's rarely too late — we've sorted facilities for events starting the same day. But the later you leave it, the less choice you have and the higher the likelihood that your first preference isn't available. As a general rule: give us a call as soon as you know you need portable toilet hire, whatever the timeline.
